Perched along the Sea of Cortez along the Baja peninsula, the Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol announces the brand’s debut in Mexico. The region is celebrated for its dramatic meeting of desert and sea, offering year-round sunshine and a tropical desert climate defined by warm days, ocean breezes, and minimal rain. Located along the tourism corridor between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, the resort spans a pristine stretch of coastline and features 163 guest rooms, including 88 suites and three private villas. The property also includes a residential component, with 11 villas and eight apartments available for purchase.

The resort was created in collaboration with architecture and interior design leaders Sordo Madaleno and Paulina Morán, alongside George Wong Design and SB Architects (now 10 Design), with concept design by Yabu Pushelberg. Drawing inspiration from historic Mexican architecture, the design reinterprets traditional courtyards, arcades, water features, and timber structures through a contemporary lens. The buildings are carefully oriented toward the coastline to offer unobstructed ocean views. Anchoring the resort experience are the Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf-designed Cabo del Sol Golf Courses, green oases among the rugged desert terrain and mountain vistas.

The landscape design reinforces a deep connection tailored to Baja’s arid coastal environment. Palms, native trees, cacti, succulents, and fragrant flowering plants are woven together to create resilient gardens that reflect the surrounding desert and shoreline ecosystems. Species selection emphasizes xerophytic plant material adapted to heat, salt air, and limited rainfall, paired with low-impact irrigation practices to conserve water. The landscape grounds the Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol in the unique beauty and ecology of southern Baja, complemented by the natural materials, sun-washed palettes, and layered textures of the architecture and interiors.
