Zach became an Associate Principal in November 2018 and has been with SWA since 2000. He holds a BSLA from Pennsylvania State University. Over his career at SWA, Zach has developed a philosophy of creating memorable spaces that improve livability, wellness, and the natural environment one project at a time. He enjoys building strong personal relationships with architects, builders, and consultants, and strives to collaborate and deliver high-quality built work in a way that makes working with SWA inspiring and enjoyable. Zach has broad experience in design, team management, and construction observation services, with a talent for hand drawing, graphic representation, and elegant site grading.
Recent and current projects include large-scale parks and civic/recreation centers, urban design and urban mid- high-rise residential projects, campus site design, and small K-5 schoolyards. Zach feels strongly about design for children and families, and has done pro-bono work on completed school gardens and homeless transitional housing. He is very happy about the recent addition to his own family: his first son, Lucián.
