Ryan has been a driving force at SWA’s Los Angeles office since he joined in 2020. He has established himself as both a design innovator and community advocate, earning promotion to Associate Principal in June 2025. With a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and four years of prior experience in San Diego, his work encompasses public realm projects, educational facilities, and mixed-use developments. Ryan’s leadership philosophy centers on being a resource to young staff, sharing expertise in both creative design and technical construction to help bridge the gap between vision and reality. His project approach is fundamentally relationship-based, prioritizing deep engagement with clients and the communities they serve. Ryan is particularly excited about growing SWA’s presence in Los Angeles’ often-overlooked suburban communities, bringing his passion for visual arts, environmental justice, and authentic placemaking to create spaces that truly reflect their users’ needs and aspirations.
