Qiaoqi Dai is an Associate Principal at SWA’s Los Angeles studio, where he works on landscape architecture and urban design projects across the United States, China, the Middle East, and Europe, with a focus on waterfronts and public open space. His work approaches landscape as both ecological infrastructure and cultural experience, integrating environmental performance, public life, and spatial identity into urban places. His notable projects include Pazhou South Waterfront Park, Nelson Mandela Park, and Dubai Creek Harbor. His work has earned recognition such as a 2023 SoCal ASLA Award of Excellence, a Global Habitat Design Gold Award, and a China Real Estate & Design Gold Award.

His broader research explores the intersection of landscape design, climate adaptation, and social equity. He leads research initiatives within SWA’s XL Lab, including the award-winning Los Angeles Shade Equity project, which examines disparities in urban heat exposure and explores design approaches for equitable climate resilience.

Qiaoqi holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University, where he received a Student Merit Award from the ASLA Boston Chapter, and a Bachelor of Architecture from Tongji University.
