Week 1 - Development Potentiality
Week 2 - The Landscape Project Part I
Week 3 - The Landscape Project Part II
Week 4 - LA River as Fashion Art Park
I am a second year MLA student at Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Before that, I finished my Bachelor of Landscape Architecture at Beijing Forestry University in China, where I became interested in the relationship between landscape and urbanism. I was fascinated by the fact that landscape could function as a platform for multidisciplinary subjects to be synthesized and optimized.
In overlapping these different layers, landscape could provide an ideal approach for urbanism. Landscape is not an accessory for urbanism, on the contrary, it has full potential to drive the urbanization process under the circumstances of energy crisis, waste pollution, temperature and sea level rises. By designing with time, flow, and process instead of pure space, landscape as infrastructure might be able to not only address work to better direct urbanization process.
