ClientHKS, Inc
Size29 acres

Situated at the southernmost tip of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula, Cabo San Lucas is a beautiful illustration of nature at its most diverse. Baja’s dramatic desert terrain is punctuated by the rugged Pedregal Mountain before converging with the pristine sandy beaches along the Sea of Cortez. Crashing blue waves of the Pacific meet the calmer waters of the Sea and create a marine environment that includes whale watching, turtle nesting and some of the finest sport fishing found in the world. At this spectacular confluence of desert mountain and sea rests the Capella Pedregal Resort.

Resort guests pass through the Dos Mares Tunnel which is carved 300 meters through the solid granite Pedregal Mountain to arrive at the isolated beach front site. Capella is an ultra-upscale, 66-room five-star resort which offers an unprecedented leisure opportunity. SWA’s sensitive site design nestles the project onto the terrain, providing expansive views and a grotto-style pool that cascades down to the beach. Each guest in the resort’s all-suite hotel enjoys patios that open to a personal pool and striking ocean vistas. The resort design celebrates Mexican architectural and garden heritage with a sophisticated blend of modern and traditional design elements all of which draw from regional artisan practices. Extensive water features are integral to the design. The desert palette of exotic and beautiful plants inspires the landscape design and helps to integrate this five-star resort into its beachfront location.
