Forest focused Design
Location Seattle, , Washington, United States
Scope Planning, Landscape Architecture
The design established a vehicular-oriented series of open spaces intended to be viewed from the car. The specific direction of landscape design was to create the beginning of a natural forest, with both open meadows and woods. Large ivy banks, drifts of Portuguese laurel, and over 4,000 deciduous and evergreen trees produce a simple, effective landscape of appropriate scale. Tree groves are located to screen undesirable views and oncoming headlights. Site grading is well-integrated with roadways to further enhance the vehicular experience.
