SWA provided full landscape architectural services for the family home of Napa Valley winery owners set on an oak covered hillside with entry through a vineyard below the house. An important part of the design was to provide an active pool area, separate entertainment gardens, and a setting for the owner’s art collection. The Italian/Mediterranean style of the house inspired the garden design and materials used: olive and Italian cypress trees, Sonoma fieldstone walls, gravel paths, hand stained concrete pool deck and simple, quiet water.
